Memory In Pixel
As reflective displays, memory-in-pixel (MIP) displays are especially characterised by extremely low power consumption, high contrast values and excellent readability of screen content – even in bright environmental conditions. We offer MIP displays up to 4.4″ in both monochrome and multi-colour versions with up to 262k colours.
Memory-In-Pixel Technology
Based on Low Temperature Poly Silicon (LTPS), each pixel of a MIP display is individually addressable. Each of these pixels includes its own 1-bit memory cell (SRAM) for storing information. In comparison to conventional LCDs, where the complete image content must first be transferred before a new image can be displayed, MIP displays only require the image information of the pixels whose content needs to be changed to be overwritten.

Advantages of the MIP technology
Thanks to the way they work, MIP displays offer extremely low power consumption and excellent readability of display content, even in bright environmental light conditions. When used in mobile devices, for example, a comparatively long battery life can be achieved without a loss of readability. Due to these properties, MIPs are preferred in handheld devices, in wearables such as smart watches, speedometers or in vending machines.
