Memory-in-Pixel Display Technology

Midas Displays is pleased to offer a range of Memory-in-Pixel (MIP) displays. These displays have ultra-low power consumption, and therefore a long battery life. Combining matrix technology with a one-bit memory circuit embedded into the pixels, enables information to be retained once it is written.

The benefits of Memory-in-Pixel display technology include, but are not limited to:

Ultra-low Power Consumption

  • Impressive display performance with or without backlight
  • No need for continuous refresh as the embedded pixel memory stores the data of the graphics (each pixel contains 1-bit memory)
  • Much less power required for refresh than traditional graphic displays

 High Readability

  • Reflective & transflective models
  • Viewable in any light, making them ideal for outdoor applications
  • Wide viewing angles
  • Fast image refresh time

Whilst the benefits can be considered comparable with E-Paper (also known as E-Ink, or electronic paper), MIP displays provider higher resolution, shock tolerance, and most importantly the ability to work at a –20° degree to +70° temperature range. The benefits of MIP displays make them ideal for low-power devices, and outdoor applications.

As with all display solutions from Midas, there is the option for customisation including: cover glass, optical bonding, custom flex, and much more. For more details, contact our sales team.
