Salamander Pumps, one the UK’s leading manufacturers of water boosting solutions, has expanded its offering with a new, innovative device following a two-year development process, working closely with Midas Displays.
AquaScan, the first of its kind on the UK market, is a 4-in-1 hand-held digital tool for measuring water pressure, flow, temperature and hardness. The product is designed to offer installers precision and accuracy when diagnosing a water system, meaning the display screen was a crucial element of the development process.
One of the product’s key USPs is it’s up to 12-hour battery life, meaning the size of the screen couldn’t jeopardise power consumption, but still needed to ensure that the display would meet the specific driver IC requirement.
Ryan Goodger, Commercial Support at Midas Displays, said: “It was a pleasure to work with the R&D team at Salamander Pumps, supporting them with both finding the best display for their latest product, and with technical support to get the application up-and-running.
“We had some specific features to satisfy, and we are really pleased we have managed to help them achieve their desired USPs on this product. Myself and my colleague in our engineering department, Thomas, have supported Salamander Pumps from the initial display discussion, right through to the production for the full product launch, and we’re excited to see its success.”
