Midas Displays is pleased to offer displays featuring full array local dimming (FALD) technology from partner Lincoln Technology Solutions (LTS). Pioneering FALD since 2018, the LTS designs range from 6.0” to 48.0”, and are ideal for several applications in the medical, automotive, and broadcast industries, as well as many more. This technology enhances image quality and contrast by independently controlling the brightness of specific areas of the display.
FALD technology features a ‘mini-LED’ backlight which is a dense array of LEDs behind the LCD, each of which can be controlled individually, providing control over specific zone illumination, leading to purer blacks, higher contrast, high colour gamut, and general image quality improvement. This technology also supports a significantly lower power consumption, in comparison to displays with similar brightness.
The mini-LED backlighting is superior to OLED and performs very well in intense lighting settings, making them ideal for any applications based in hospital operating rooms. The localised control of brightness levels also makes these displays ideal for automotive applications, as dimming can reduce glare and reflections on the screen, allowing the driver to focus on driving. In addition, the excellent contrast and vibrant colours can improve the view of maps, entertainment content, and rear-view camera imaging.
Full HD and 4K resolution options are available, as well as various enhancements such as the integrations of a projective capacitive touch panel (PCAP), and customised cover glass, based on the customers individual requirements.
